SUMMARY:2020.3 Chamber University Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Topic: \n\nThe Power of Moments: Why Certain Experiences Have Extraordinary Impact\n\nPresenter:\n\nHugh Brown\, CEO of St. David's Georgetown Hospital\n\n \n\nAbout the Presentation:\n\nWe all have defining moments in our lives meaningful experiences that stand out in our memory. Many defining moments seem to be the product of fate or luck (meeting the love of your life\, being introduced to someone at a Chamber event who helps you redirect your career). However\, research shows that when we understand the characteristics of defining moments we can intentionally create moments that will enrich our lives\, connect us with others and improve the experience of customers or patients or employees.\n\n \n\nDrawing on examples and research from the 2017 book The Power of Moments by Chip and Dan Heath\, this workshop will first help you understand what makes moments memorable (elevation\, insight\, pride\, connection). You will then spend "hands on" time planning and sharing actual moments that you can use in your business to positively impact employee retention and customer satisfaction.\n\n \n\nOur workshop leader\, Hugh Brown\, the CEO of St. David's Georgetown Hospital\, has used the Power of Moments to help create a workplace culture that consistently achieves industry-leading employee engagement and patient satisfaction scores. Hugh will share how his team intentional crafts "peak" and "milestone" experiences that help his customers (patients)\, many of whom are highly anxious and unwell\, recall their hospital experiences favorably. If you've ever heard Hugh speak you know that you are in for an engaging\, informative and highly productive workshop! \n\nSeating is limited so RSVP early!\n\n\n\nMenu from Pok-e-jo's:\n\nBrisket\, turkey\, broccoli salad\, pinto beans\, steamed veggies\, banana pudding
